CybersecurityWeek Gala & Awards Night
The Gala Dinner marked the end of the Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg on Firday 20th October 2017. This cozy event gathered many actors from the Luxembourgish security ecosystem as well as the participants of the special Week.
Pascal Steichen, CEO of SECURITYMADEIN.LU, made a first sum up of the Cybersecurity Week Luxembourg. Then, two speeches were given by Danny Bren, Brigadier General reserve (Israel), who made a presentation about “Seizing the Digital Opportunity Lessons learned from the Cyber Journey”. After that, François Lavaste, Head of Digital Security Digital Transformation Office at Airbus, gave a speech about Digital transformation and and cyber security. The moderation was done by the Master of Ceremony Jonathan Prince from Digicash.
The Awards Ceremony followed these speeches, here is the list of the winners:
Best Thesis Award: this award recognized the best master’s/doctoral or bachelor thesis / final work of a student registered at uni.lu or who has completed his internship / thesis / work in Luxembourg. Jean Goetzinger, President of the CLUSIL, gave the Award to Eduardo Leon from Clearstream.
PwC Cybersecurity Awards the most promising Cybersecurity company - Jury’s choice: this Award was sponsored by PwC and was given to the candidate who demonstrated excellence at all levels, from strategy to execution. Guy-Philippe Goldstein, Senior Analyst, Cyber Desk Wikistrat / analyst of cyber warfare, officially gave the Award to Cyber Trap.
PwC Cybersecurity Awards the most promising Cybersecurity company – People’s choice: the audience voted for the most captivating solution, which won the People’s Choice Award. François Lavaste - Francois Lavaste, Digital Security Officer for Defence and Space, gave the Award to Stratus Digital System.
Capture the Flag (CTF) Award (sponsored by hack.lu): the Capture the Flag (CTF) competition was one of the main highlights of the Hack.lu conference and attracted over 300 teams every year. Alexandre Dulaunoy, Security Researcher at CIRCL, gave the award to the Flux Fingers team.
CISO of the Year Award: this Award rewarded an individual for his/her global strategy, projects implemented, technical choices and management skills. Mr Vincent Villers, Partner PwC, gave the Award to Dolores Pérez from KBL European Private Bankers S.A.
In the end, Vincent Villers, Partner PwC, made a final conclusion about the event which was followed by a networking session.
